A native Atlantan, Laura Dewberry Surace has had an interest in creating art as long as she can remember. She received a bachelor of fine arts degree from Carson-Newman College (just north of Knoxville, TN) and a master of fine arts at Memphis College of arts, where she won two awards.
Laura has enjoyed teaching both adult and children classes and workshops for over 13 years and is always inspired by the enthusiasm her students have when discovering their talents in art. She encourages her students to develop their own style through showing them different techniques in oil, acrylic, and mixed media.
Laura has been exhibiting her art for over fifteen years and has had her work shown in several Georgia galleries; in Highpoint, North Carolina; and Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee. In addition, she also paints portraits in oil and acrylic. Her work has been purchased by CNN Omni Hotel Atlanta; Flightworks Airport, Mannassas, Virginia; and Irvine Doubletree Hotel, Irvine, California; among others.
