Gary Baughman’s beautiful paintings are familiar to many fine art lovers and collectors. He is proficient in oil, pastel and watercolor mediums, and has taught many classes in each discipline.
He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and has studied at the Scottsdale Art School. He has also continually sharpened his skills by work-shopping with many nationally prominent artists. Baughman has enjoyed participating in invitational plein air paintouts. His work has garnered many prizes and acknowledgements in U.S. National Juried Exhibitions and in Japan. He especially enjoys passing on his knowledge to the next generation of artists. Gary’s students, current and past, are enthusiastic about his thought-provoking, informative, and encouraging teaching style.
Mr. Baughman enjoys giving presentations and demonstrations to various artists groups. He is a Member of Excellence of the Southeastern Pastel Society and was the 230-member organization’s 2012-15 President. His studio is in Marietta, Georgia, adjacent to the Kennesaw National Battlefield Park. The setting provides him an unending source of landscape subject matter that serves as the basis for many of his works.
