Call for Works!

Bring us your granny squares, your scarves, your doilies, your afghans, your practice pieces. Knit one, purl two, and then send us your work! The Marietta/Cobb Art Museum invites the community to donate hand-made fabrics to be included in an installation on the façade of the museum.

You can include as many pieces as you would like, and please feel free to be creative with your entry! All ages are encouraged to get involved. Get your friends to join in, too! Learn how to knit or crochet with free workshops at the museum on Thursday, February 7, Thursday, March 14, or Thursday, April 18 - from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Learn how to register at this page or call (770) 528-1444 x16 today to reserve your spot!

Drop your creation(s) off at the museum or mail it to us at 30 Atlanta Street, Marietta, GA 30060. The deadline for donations is June 1, 2013. We will not be able to return your work. When we take the pieces down at the end of summer, we will be installing them permanently in our studios!

The big reveal will be on Saturday, July 6, 2013!

*Open Studio is free to the public. We invite knitters/crocheters/fiber artists to work on a project(s) at the museum, from 5 - 9 p.m. on Friday, May 3, during Art Walk. All ages are welcome! There will also be a lecture from 7-8 that night by the Chattahoochee Handweaver's Guild. Call Katie for more information-

Want to Get Involved?

Want to get involved? Donate your unused yarn or knit/crochet materials to the museum. Better yet, donate your time by volunteering with this project and/or with the workshops. E-mail Katie for more information!
Currently, we need...
- Volunteers to help teach knitting/crocheting workshops at MCMA
-Volunteers to do outreach to local guilds, artists, collectives, and yarn shops
- Volunteers to sew the pieces together throughout June (no experience is necessary)
