Plein Air Paint Out on March 23 & 24

MCMA's Second Annual Plein Air Paint Out is scheduled for the weekend of March 23 & 24, 2013! The museum is now registering people who wish to participate in this event. Read more about it below or call Katie at (770) 528-1444 x16 for more information! We hope to see you there!
Artists will paint local public and private sites in beautiful Historic Marietta. From the local homes and gardens to the dynamic architecture of downtown, Historic Marietta has many picturesque scenes perfect for plein air painting. The Marietta Cobb Museum’s Second Annual Plein Air Paint Out will feature a judged exhibition and sale on display at the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art (located at 30 Atlanta Street, a block south of Marietta Square).

Plein Air Paint Out InformationRules: Artists may submit 2 pieces for judging. All works must be done en plein air, without the assistance of photographs. All canvases must be stamped at registration and must be turned in at the end of the day on Saturday (see schedule). Painting and drawing media accepted. No photography will be accepted.

Canvas Restrictions: Canvases may be no larger than 36 inches in any direction. Artists may submit up to 2 completed works for judging. All canvases will be stamped at registration and all registered canvases must be turned in at the end of the day on Saturday.
Sales: Completed works may be listed for sale. Museum receives 30% commission. Works will be displayed at Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art on Saturday, March 23 to Friday, March 29 (unless sold).
