"David Uhl: Somewhere between Dream and Memory" presents a variety of David Uhl’s oil and watercolor paintings that focus on motorcycles, cycle racing, and the tight-knit community of motorcycle enthusiasts. Based in Colorado, Uhl has been collecting bikes since 1988 and began a long, successful artistic relationship with Harley-Davidson® in 1993. This exhibition of Uhl’s artwork, complemented by a small selection of unique motorcycles, explores and celebrates the distinct and passionate subculture surrounding motorbikes.
MCMA is also happy to present an exhibition of painted portraits by New Orleans artist, Aron Belka. In this exhibition, "Represent: Depicting Creatives in the 504," Belka presents twenty cohesive oil portraits of artists who have shaped the growing contemporary art scene of New Orleans, Louisiana (AKA “The 504”). In Belka’s words, “These artists represent a moment of shared history. The process of painting these portraits gave me a special glimpse into our relationships and our journey as creative peers."
